PTSD

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a problem world wide with civilian and military subjects. It is estimated that 20 % of active combat soldiers will develop PTSD. The treatment has suboptimal results with some 60 % not responding to conventional treatments. The current standard of care for PTSD is Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged exposure therapy, EMDR and other forms of psychotherapy. Medical Treatment with SSRIs only blunt the symptoms and do not produce a cure for the disorder. There has been no new medication that has been approved and effective since 2001

Rick Doblin PhD who founded MAPS ( MAPS.org) and Michael Mithoefer MD and Anne Mithoefer are the main movers in this field. It is so very unfortunate that Rick Doblin and associates, against all odds fighting the establishment, despite a disinformation campaign by the Federal Government, CIA, lack of funding and plain stupidity by the governmental agencies that oversee this work mainly the FDA and DEA have persevered and MDMA is expected to be approved within a few months. Recently there has been unprecedented cooperation between the agencies in question and MAPS which is the main sponsor of the study. FDA has given the approval under the “expanded access” program and had approved use of MDMA in a limited number of patients even though the drug is not officially approved as of yet.

Pete actively works with both civilian and military PTSD and will guide the subject to the most effective but legal in the country in which it is administered. Pete works with three reputed shamans in Peru which have a good track record of safety and efficacy. Pete actively encourages the use of psychedelics in PTSD and will assist the individual in the most suitable agent whether MDMA or other psychedelic agents are used with legal options in Peru Mexico and The Netherlands where the use is legal and the institutions have a long track record of safety and success.

Michael and Anne Mithoefer have been Petes instructors in the CIIS certification course
